I intend to write here what I think and what I learn. Most of what I write here will be about politics.

Normal people vs assholes

Some people who are best described as assholes have decided to become just what the fundies claim all liberals are i.e. militantly anti-christian atheists.

To do this they have entered Churchs and left anti-Christian Propaganda.

Thankfuly not all atheists are assholes here's what some atheists wrote in responce to the activists actions.

I don't understand you people. I can understand being against Christianity and religion, but easter? A holidy now that is basically all about children eating candy and having fun?

Are you people so unhappy with your lives you have to project your dissillusionment with the world and insecurity onto CHILDREN?

War on Easter? Planting false eggs for children? You people need to get some lives and some hobbies and leave kids to their own shit. Jesus Christ, planning out how you can best ruin a fun holiday for kids. Get bent you fuckin losers.

And yes, Im an agnostic and was raised that way, but you people are just fuckin idiots. I always loved easter and christmas growing up and you idiots selfishly want to make this about you and your agenda.

Im sure you will respond to this in kind, sarcastically as you can, and point to me as an example of what you are trying to remedy (or maybe it will be deleted in the name of vandalism, "discussion" be damned). But I know you will all know in the pit of your stomachs you are all losers and what you are doing is a pathetic cry for attention.

I agree with the previous comment. I'm an antheist and I think this whole "War on Easter" has been a complete waste of time.

And yeah, I can just choose to stay out of it, but then I have to accept that you people are representing atheism in an idiotic way to the masses.

I can think of nothing more childish and moronic than sneaking into anybody's place of worship to leave information on atheism. While I loathe religion and many of its followers, I would never "sneak" around anywhere to combat it.

First, I've got some amount of pride. "Sneaking" implies I'm doing something wrong, or underhanded. Discussing atheism in a rational way should be nothing to be ashamed of.

Secondly, I'm a man. I don't need to "sneak" around to promote my views. I'm proud of them and will discuss them openly with anybody that cares to.

Thirdly, I have respect for people even if I don't agree with them. Like I said, I cannot stand religous type thinking and the mess that it has created around the world; however, that doesn't mean I'm going to disrespect somebody's "house of worship" to get my point across. It's about respect. This "war" offers no respect toward religious folks and basically makes asses of them. (See the pic of Brian with the cardinal. The coward just planted DVD's all over the guys place of worship and then he dupes him into posing for a photo. That's just making an ass out of the Cardinal and downright cruel.)

Fourth, I'm guessing that very few religious folks who find the DVD's and fliers will have any change of heart in terms of religion. Most of them will feel somewhat threatened; something that will only further convince them that they are "fighting the good fight."

Fifth, the DVD is a poor representation of what atheism is all about. It's just o.k. in terms of production quality, writing and directing. That this DVD is somehow going out to the masses as a representation of atheistic thought is maddening. Please, there are far better works out there.

Finally, if there is to be any real progress made in terms of showing religious folks the light, it will done through a calm defense of reason and a continual effort to convey the beauty of rational thought. There are so many aspects to free thought; I've got to believe that there are far more effective ways to convey them.

And yes, this is all my opinion. And no, I don't have to offer any alternative in order for it to be valid. I'm pissed that somebody is out there making atheists look like morons; that alone is reason enough to comment.
